foundations of handbuilding and sculpture This 12 hour course teaches the techniques employed to create finished pieces off the wheel, included pinching, coiling, and slab building. It is an excellent introductory class for the absolute beginner, as well as a good foundations class for the more experienced pupil. Includes studio time & class clay and access to tools. Saturday 11-1pm. Basic materials included. Firing fees (4 cents/sq. inch bisque; 6 cents/sq. inch glaze). REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS This 12 hour course explores the human form in three dimensions, teaching how to sculpt the face, hands, and body in clay. Previous sculpture experience helpful but not required. Due to the subject matter of this class, minors may not enroll without the permission of a legal guardian. Includes studio time & class clay and access to tools. Saturday 4-6pm. A modeling fee may be collected. Firing fees (4 cents/sq. inch bisque; 6 cents/sq. inch glaze). REGISTER FOR THIS CLASS. Class enrollment is limited. Tool kits are required for participation, and new and reconditioned sets are available for purchase while supplies last. A firing fee will be collected when ceramic pieces are fired. Studio hours are nontransferable and expire following the end of the session.
